Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan just couldn’t do enough to get his team past the Miami Dolphins in a 27-23 loss in Week 3. Although he did manage to find Julio Jones nine times and threw two touchdowns, the Falcons now find themselves in unfamiliar territory near the bottom of the NFC South.

Fantasy impact: Ryan hasn’t actually played that badly for the Falcons and they could easily be better than their current record indicates. He had a breakout year of sorts last season as the Falcons’ offense looked like a well-oiled machine for most of 2012. It seems receiver Roddy White is dealing with nagging injuries and as a result, is not producing as much as he usually does, which certainly affects Ryan’s ability to put up fantasy numbers. Although his owners shouldn’t exactly drop the veteran passer, there’s room for improvement going forward.
