Tennessee Titans wide receiver Justin Hunter made quite the first impression on Sunday. The rookie made his first NFL catch against the San Diego Chargers, a game-winning 34-yard touchdown.
Justin Hunter could see more playing time, eroding Kenny Britt’s fantasy value
The Titans could give more playing time to rookie Justin Hunter after his game-winning touchdown on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

After the game, offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains praised Hunter’s play an hinted that he could have a bigger role in the offense. From Titans Insider:
“We have a lot of faith in Justin. Justin is going to be an extremely special player,” offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains said. “When we had to have it, that’s a guy that Jake wanted in, that’s a guy that we wanted in as a coaching staff. We knew we were gonna give him a jump ball, and there was an extreme mismatch no matter who was covering him. He was gonna go up above them and catch the ball.”
Fantasy impact: This is noteworthy because Kenny Britt’s season has been a complete disaster. He struggled with drops and penalties and was benched for the final game-winning drive. Quarterback Jake Locker reportedly asked Hunter to be put in the game at that point.
Britt is all but done in Tennessee, and can probably be dropped in fantasy leagues. We’ll have to wait and see if the team really does give Hunter more chances, but he’s worth picking up as a roster stash in deeper leagues.
