Le’Veon Bell says he’s at 100 percent; fantasy owners drool

Bell has missed the Steelers’ first three games, but appears set to debut Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell described his recovery from a foot injury as "100 percent," the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported. Bell, who has missed the season's first three games, was hurt in the Steelers' second preseason game, suffering a right mid-foot sprain.

The Steelers have had a disappointing start to the season, sitting at 0-3 entering this weekend's game against the Minnesota Vikings in England. The team is second-to-last in the NFL in rushing yards thus far, with 155 yards on 52 carries through three games. They are one of only four teams without a rushing touchdown and tied with the Washington Redskins for the most fumbles, with four.

Felix Jones has led the team in rushes so far, with 17 carries for 71 yards, with Jonathan Dwyer, Isaac Redman and the since-injured LaRod Stephens-Howling also getting carries. Bell, a second-round 2013 draft pick out of Michigan State, was expected to be the team's starter before his injury.

Fantasy impact: Bell could hardly be worse than the guys the Steelers have been running out there so far. While the Steelers might wait to unleash Bell completely and let him take full carries, he’ll likely get the majority of them this weekend and increase the carries as the team goes forward.

Fantasy owners who drafted Bell expecting high value out of him have been eager to see this. This week, Bell is probably flex-worthy at best, but going forward, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him as a decent RB2.
