Willis McGahee promises fantasy owners more than 8 yards
It’s a bold call, but McGahee thinks he will get at least nine yards Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
A week after rushing for nine yards on eight careers in his Cleveland Browns debut, running back Willis McGahee promised a bigger game this week. The Browns take on the Bengals at 1 p.m. Sunday in Cleveland.
McGahee told Cleveland Plain Dealer writer Mary Kay Cabot that “there will be dramatic improvement. I’m going to have more than eight yards.”
Fantasy impact: In what has to be the boldest call of the year, McGahee has promised to his fantasy owners that he will get double-digit yards, or at least very close to it. This would clearly make him a No. 1 running back, challenging the likes of Adrian Peterson, Doug Martin, and LeSean Mc...oh. Double-digit. Not triple-digit.
Thanks for the boldness, Willis. I'm resisting a "whatchu talkin' ‘bout" joke, here, for all I'm worth. Anyway, yes, McGahee will probably go for more yards than a week ago, for whatever that's worth for fantasy owners. He's far ahead of teammates Bobby Rainey and Chris Ogbonnaya in terms of fantasy viability, but he's still not much of a starting option.
