Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White is "not where he wants to be" in regards to his high ankle sprain, but will play in Week 4 against the Patriots, according to Vaugh McClure of ESPN. In a follow-up Tweet, it's explained that White believes he will take his time to recover for the team's bye week, which comes in Week 6.
Roddy White says he’ll play in Week 4, but fantasy owners should sit him
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White will play in Week 4, but he seems unlikely to be more than a decoy. We break down the fantasy implications.

White seems concerned about his active games streak at this point. He’s played in all three games this season and has been largely ineffective. He’s primarily been used a decoy and has looked very slow out there, but teams have been putting top cornerbacks on him, regardless.
It seems to be working, at the very least. His teammate and fellow receiver Julio Jones has 27 receptions for 373 yards, which leads the NFL. He also has two touchdowns. So the decoy aspect of White's strategy seems to be working. At this point, it seems likely that White won't be doing much until after the bye week.
Fantasy Impact: One has to wonder if White is making things worse on himself by playing each week, but it is what it is. At this point, he should not be started in fantasy football, even if he’s going to play. Prior to this season, we’d have told you that White is a must-start if he’s going to be active, but it’s clear through three weeks what the Falcons intend to do with him, and he shouldn’t get a start from fantasy owners until he shows he is healthy.
