New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski (back, forearm) has officially been downgraded to out for Week 4 Sunday Night Football. Gronkowski had not fully participated in practice this week, but initially was expected to still play. Saturday afternoon we learned Gronk and Danny Amendola did not make the trip and were downgraded from questionable to out.
Rob Gronkowski out for fantasy owners in Week 4
Patriots’ tight end Rob Gronkowski has been downgraded to out heading into the team’s Week 4 game against the Falcons. We discuss the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: When healthy, Gronkowski is one of the top fantasy tight ends in the game, alongside the New Orleans Saints' Jimmy Graham. The problem for his fantasy owners over the last two seasons is that he hasn't been able to stay in the lineup on a consistent basis.
Gronk’s absence means you need to find another tight end for Sunday, and Zach Sudfeld is not that guy. Sudfeld had a chance with Gronk’s absence, but he has not been able to take over. Gronk and Amendola’s absences means Julian Edelman, Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins are the three best pass-catching options when New England faces the Atlanta Falcons.
