NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers may elect to rest Vincent Jackson Sunday vs. the Arizona Cardinals. The Bucs have a bye week next week, so sitting him would get him two full weeks to get back to 100 percent. Jackson injured his ribs last Sunday against the New England Patriots. He missed Wednesday and Thursday practice, and was limited in practice on Friday.
Vincent Jackson may rest injured ribs, downgrade fantasy value
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may decide to sit Vincent Jackson and allow him to rest his injured ribs. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: Although Jackson still could play, we will find out for sure 90 minutes before the 1 p.m. kickoff. That being said, even if Jackson does play, his value should be considered fairly limited. He could still perform fine, but the downside grows with his injured ribs. He is at best a very low end WR2 if he plays, and even that is a gamble.
This should mean more targets for Mike Williams, but it also means he draws Patrick Peterson without a whole lot opposite him to open things up. Williams is talented, but with significant question marks at quarterback, and potentially no real receiving options elsewhere, Williams should be downgraded a bit as well.
