Oakland Raiders running back Rashad Jennings played a good number of snaps against the Washington Redskins on Sunday, and he played well. Jennings was filling in for Darren McFadden, who left the game in the first quarter with a hamstring injury and was declared out for the game prior to the second half.
Rashad Jennings fills in well for Darren McFadden, could be solid fantasy handcuff going forward
Oakland Raiders running back Rashad Jennings filled in well for Darren McFadden on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jennings performed better than most would have guessed, given the situation. He carried the ball 15 times for 45 yards, which was good for a pedestrian 3.0 yards per carry average, but on the receiving end, he caught eight passes for 71 yards, for an average of 8.9 yards. He was instrumental in helping Oakland keep the game close -- though the Raiders did surrender a 14-point lead -- and performed very well all things considered.
At this point, it’s unknown to what extent McFadden is injured. Whether or not he’ll miss any more action is up in the air, but Jennings played well and that has to have the Raiders feeling a bit better about the situation going forward.
Fantasy Impact: If you have McFadden in fantasy football, chances are you’ve already lined up some options for the increasingly likely event that he gets injured. Drafting McFadden is drafting a back who comes with significant injury concerns. Jennings seems like a decent handcuff at this point, however, so if he wasn’t your top choice, there’s a good chance he’s still available in your league and snatching him up wouldn’t be the worst idea.
