Greg Little and Davone Bess are listed as the starting wide receivers for the Cleveland Browns, according to Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland. Bess was acquired in a draft-day trade from the Miami Dolphins, and was expected to get some time as the third wide receiver, but Josh Gordon is dealing with a suspension.
Greg Little, Davone Bess named Browns’ starting WRs; neither hold much fantasy value
Greg Little and Davone Bess were named the Cleveland Browns’ starting wide receivers. We break down the fantasy implications.

At this point, it seems likely that Gordon will take back over Bess’ spot when he returns, provided he’s in the team’s good graces. That said, Bess will get plenty of playing time and passes coming his way to show the team that it would be a mistake to bench him. Perhaps he can even convince the team that what they want to do is put Little on the sidelines when Gordon returns.
It’s a solid opportunity for Bess, and for Little, it represents that the team expects more out of him than what has been delivered to this point.
Fantasy Implications: Little was always on-track to be one of Cleveland’s starters regardless, but he might not be a smart fantasy play. He obviously shouldn’t be your top receiver, but Little eventually developing into a 1,000-yard receiver isn’t totally impossible. Bess, at this point, also doesn’t seem like a smart play. Neither guy should really be a fallback option, either. The fact remains that even with the suspension and other issues, Gordon is still a better fantasy receiving option.
