Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson has been given medical clearance and will be available to play in the season opener against the San Francisco 49ers, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. Florio's sources say that Nelson has received clearance, but not that he will play in the game for sure.
Jordy Nelson healthy, could play and be effective fantasy option in Week 1
Jorday Nelson is healthy and could play for the Green Bay Packers in Week 1. We break down the fantasy implications.

That’s an important distinction. Nelson hasn’t been practicing, and if he’s not full up to speed by practicing this week, then it’s anybody’s guess as to whether or not he’ll end up playing. All we know is that Nelson is sorely needed against the 49ers, which might play a factor in the decision-making process when it comes to whether or not he’ll play.
Nelson had knee surgery in early August and missed a large portion of training camp.
Fantasy Impact: Nelson is Green Bay's top receiving option after Greg Jennings departed in free agency. The team will be depending on him to be their primary receiver as they search for others to step up. Aaron Rodgers likes to target Nelson, though some have been scared off by Nelson's down year last year and this injury. If he's healthy, smart money is on him rebounding and having a very nice year so he could be a nice pickup if available.
