Blaine Gabbert limited in practice, not a viable fantasy option
Blaine Gabbert is dealing with a thumb injury and was limited in practice on Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Gabbert suffered a hairline fracture of the thumb in the third preseason game and hasn't done much throwing since then. He admitted on Tuesday that he was still feeling discomfort in his thumb and head coach Gus Bradley may make him a game time decision for Sunday's opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Chad Henne will get the start on Sunday if Gabbert isn't ready to go.
Fantasy impact: Gabbert wasn't a realistic fantasy option before the injury, and he's a huge gamble if his throwing hand is less than 100 percent. This isn't good news for Cecil Shorts' Week 1 appeal, but look for Maurice Jones-Drew to benefit. Jones-Drew is back from a Lisfranc injury and should once again carry the load with Jacksonville's quarterback situation in flux. MJD might be the Jaguars' safest fantasy play this week.
