Cowboys defensive end Anthony Spencer has suffered a minor setback after having his knee scoped, and his status for Sunday night's opener versus the Giants is uncertain.
Anthony Spencer suffers minor setback, absence would boost Week One fantasy value for Giants players
The Cowboys defensive end suffered a minor setback and has been limited to conditioning drills in Cowboys practice this week. We break down the fantasy implications.

ESPN's Ed Werder reports that Spencer's setback has limited him to conditioning drills this week, which does not bode well for his chances of seeing the field for the team's season opener. The Cowboys are already dealing with the absence of Jay Ratliff, and are now down to half of the starters of what would be a formidable front four if healthy.
Fantasy Spin: Even if Spencer suits up, it's not looking favorable for the Cowboys defense to put fantasy points up versus Eli Manning and company. The Cowboys are transitioning into a new 4-3 front under Defensive Coordinator Monte Kiffin, and room for error during this adjustment is to be expected. Manning has proven that if given time, he is more than capable of picking defenses apart.
Furthermore, Giants running back David Wilson could be in store for a huge week with two of the Cowboys best run defenders on the sidelines, and if the second-year speedster reaches the second level with regularity, a top-five Week One fantasy performance would not be shocking.
