The Denver Broncos have ruled cornerback Champ Bailey inactive for the Thursday Night Football game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Champ Bailey injury: Broncos CB inactive for Thursday’s game, helping Torrey Smith’s fantasy value
As expected, Champ Bailey has been ruled inactive for Thursday’s opener against the Broncos. We break down the fantasy implications.

Bailey suffered a foot sprain in the preseason and has had no clear timetable for his return. He was able to shed his walking boot last week, but he's been unable to practice. Chris Harris and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie will get the start in his place, with Tony Carter coming in on passing downs. The Broncos will also be without linebacker Von Miller, who begins his six-game suspension.
Fantasy impact: This is great news for Torrey Smith owners. Smith torched the Broncos secondary in last season's playoff victory and will once again be Joe Flacco's top deep threat. Smith doesn't see a lot of touches, which makes him a boom-or-bust fantasy option, but he has a favorable matchup this week and is worth starting as a WR2. Ray Rice also looks to see plenty of action in the passing game.
