New York Jets running back Bilal Powell will be the starting running back in Sunday's opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but Chris Ivory is also expected to see some work. Running back coach Anthony Lynn confirmed that Ivory will get the snaps on goal line and short yardage situations.
Chris Ivory’s fantasy value dependant on goal line carries
The Jets will be starting Bilal Powell at running back this week, but Chris Ivory will be getting all the goal line carries. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Jets have been cautious with Ivory throughout the preseason after he dealt with a lingering hamstring injury. They are expected to continue limiting his snaps in a short week. The Jets play the New England Patriots just four days later on Thursday night.
Fantasy impact: Ivory may win the starting job from Powell sooner than later, but he’ll continue to be worked along slowly. Getting goal line touches gives him a chance to score this week, but the Jets offense is so weak they may not reach the goal line much. Neither Ivory nor Powell are worth starting against one of the best run defenses in the league.
