The New England Patriots are expected to use a receiver rotation in Sunday's opener against the Buffalo Bills. Kenbrell Thompkins, Aaron Dobson, Josh Boyce and Julian Edelman all expect to see significant playing time as the team sorts out its pecking order at receiver.
Patriots expected to rotate WRs, creating muddled fantasy picture
The Patriots plan on using Aaron Dobson, Kenbrell Thompkins and other receivers on a rotational basis on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Dobson, a second round pick, was outplayed by undrafted rookie Thompkins in training camp and preseason, but he still plans on seeing his fair share of snaps. Thompkins is expected to get the start opposite Danny Amendola.
Fantasy impact: It might be time to pump the brakes on the Thompkins hype. The rookie shot up draft boards after a solid August, but his targets may be limited if the Patriots do commit to a rotation. Amendola remains the safest fantasy bet going into Week 1, with Thompkins as a low-end WR3 at best. Dobson is a shaky play this week and should be a roster stash until he earns more snaps.
