Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is in a "catch-up period," according to head coach Gary Kubiak, via Tania Ganguli of ESPN. Hopkins is targeted to be the No. 2 receiver behind All-Pro Andre Johnson, but he may be brought along slowly over the next couple weeks.
DeAndre Hopkins playing catch-up, shouldn’t be a Week 1 start in fantasy football
Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is still in a “catch-up period.” We break down the fantasy implications.

Hopkins was a first-round pick in this year’s draft and should end up being a very solid option behind Johnson when it’s all said and done. Unfortunately, Hopkins suffered a concussion in the team’s second preseason game after hitting his head hard on the ground.
From there, he missed the final two preseason games and was only recently cleared to resume football activities. He's good to go for this game, but given that he's playing catch-up, he may have to rotate with DeVier Posey and Keshawn Martin at times.
Fantasy Impact: Hopkins may end up being a very productive receiving option for your fantasy team this season. That said, he may not be the No. 2, No. 3 or even No. 4 target on Monday. There's Johnson and tight end Owen Daniels to take away his targets, and then the other receivers. There's a lot of reasons to like Hopkins for your team, but very few to consider starting him in Week 1.
