Foster has been limited throughout the duration of Texans camp with a calf injury, and was activated from the team’s physically unable to perform list on Aug 21. Though Kubiak reinforced that Foster’s “condition is excellent,” he also hinted that he does not expect Foster to have the majority of the workload in the Texans backfield.
Fantasy Spin: This timeshare is the risk that fantasy owners who drafted Foster in the earlygoings of drafts knew about. Foster carried the football a career-high 351 times in 2012, and his coaches appear to have shifted their focus on preserving their backfield star instead of running him in the ground right away. Foster’s chances of reclaiming his feature-back role still remain more likely than not, but that will become more difficult should his handcuff Ben Tate have a breakout game. Because of this, Week One is the rare week that Foster makes a good RB2 or flex play instead of his usual RB1 designation.
