Cam Newton passes for 125 yards in loss to Seahawks, long-term fantasy value remains high
Cam Newton didn’t light-up the stat sheet versus the Seahawks, throwing for 125 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 38. We break down the fantasy implications.

Newton also added 38 yards on five carries to salvage some value in an otherwise disappointing day on the stat sheet. He also didn’t benefit from head coach Ron Rivera electing to punt the ball away on four different fourth-and-short opportunities, and may have had some of his fantasy value sapped after not getting a chance to extend drives.
Fantasy Spin: All things considered, Newton looked sharp against a stout Seattle defense. Despite having a modest day on the stat sheet, there were no red flags to suggest Newton should not return to the usual dominant fantasy performances that had owners reaching for him in the early rounds of drafts. Week Two ought to be much kinder to Newton, who will travel and face the Buffalo Bills.
