New Bears tight end Martellus Bennett scored a touchdown on one of his three receptions Sunday, going for a total of 49 yards as the Bears beat the Bengals, 24-21.
Martellus Bennett gives fantasy owners a TD in Bears debut
Bennett might be the tight end salve the Chicago team has been looking for. We break down the fantasy implications.

Bennett’s score came in the first quarter, on an 8-yard pass from quarterback Jay Cutler to put the Bears up 7-0 early in the game.
Fantasy impact: The Bears have been looking for a receiving complement to Brandon Marshall for some time, and a tight end to have relevance in Chicago for the first time since Greg Olsen left for the Carolina Panthers in 2011.
Bennett, a new arrival from the New York Giants, has a chance to be that complement and that tight end. He had 626 receiving yards and five touchdowns last year in New York, catching the ball 55 times. Similar production in Chicago will be very welcome to the Soldier Field denizens.
