Martin’s second-half touchdown was the only bright spot for him Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Martin ran the ball 24 times, leaving him with a 2.7 average per carry. He did score a touchdown in the second quarter.
Fantasy impact: This game was a big disappointment for Martin’s fantasy owners, who almost certainly used a top-five pick on the second-year player. Without his touchdown to save his value, Martin would have been a total fantasy dud Sunday.
With only 2.7 yards per carry, Martin showed little of the explosiveness he did last year. The Jets defense likely focused on preparing for Martin, though, as Josh Freeman’s struggles in the preseason seemed to indicate that Martin would get most of the work. If the season goes like Sunday did, it could be a long year for Martin owners.
