Fantasy football sleepers, Week 6: Running backs

No Murray, Bell, or Forte? No problem! The waiver wire is here to help you win your matchup in Week 6.

Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

There are only a handful of running backs that appear to be must-starts this season. If you didn't happen to grab DeMarco Murray, Matt Forte or Le'Veon Bell, it's understandable that you're left to filter through the remaining names on the wire. Fortunately, there are still a few available running backs that could play well above their initial projection during Week 6.

Bishop Sankey - That's right. The first repeat-sleeper of the 2014 season is none other than Bishop Sankey. And trust me, I understand if you're scared. But with Shonn Greene reportedly doubtful for their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the sky is (finally) the limit for Sankey. Consider him an RB2 in deeper leagues and a great daily option if you're looking to avoid the heavy usage of Branden Oliver, Le'Veon Bell, etc.

Fantasy Rankings: QB RB WR TE D/ST

Chris Ivory - In the two games prior to last week's contest against the San Diego Chargers, Chris Ivory out-touched Chris Johnson, 33-18. He still finished with an additional opportunity last week, but suddenly, everyone has seem to forgotten that Ivory is actually quite useful. The New York Jets have no choice but to keep Peyton Manning off the field, so look for a heavy dose of the running game this week. Ivory could finish as a low-end flex play.

Storm Johnson - In 2014, you're considered useful if you're starting. If you still have doubts, just look at Jonathan Stewart and Trent Richardson. And with Toby Gerhart set to sit out this week against the Tennessee Titans, rookie Storm Johnson will have the opportunity to carry the load against the league's fourth-worst rush defense. Johnson deserves your consideration, if only as a matchup play.
