The San Francisco 49ers got their offense back on track with a 31-17 win over the St. Louis Rams on Monday Night Football. Unfortunately, they struggled to run the football, but Colin Kaepernick and his receivers showed up and made big plays. The lone exception was Vernon Davis, who was held to three catches for 30 yards.
49ers fantasy football recap: Colin Kaepernick, Anquan Boldin shine
San Francisco gets the passing game going but still struggles to run the football. We bring you the fantasy implications.

The 49ers are now 4-2 and back in the mix in the NFC West. There was a lot to like about the fantasy performances so let’s take a look.
Colin Kaepernick
Kaepernick put up huge numbers on Monday Night Football against a St. Louis Rams defense giving up the 13th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Kaepernick had his best game of the season, throwing for 343 yards and three touchdowns. He also added 37 yards rushing. Kaepernick looked sharp in the passing game and was once again electric on the field. His numbers could have been better if he hadn't missed on another touchdown when Vernon Davis and Vance McDonald collided in the end zone.
Gore continues to get the bulk of the carries in the 49ers’ backfield and he finished with 38 rushing yards on 16 carries. He was only targeted once in the passing game and saw his playing time reduced in the fourth quarter when the 49ers turned to rookie Carlos Hyde. The 49ers’ running game has been inconsistent this season. Gore struggled through the first three games, before topping 100 yards in Weeks 4 and 5. Fantasy owners will need to monitor the situation, but Gore is still hard to sit.
Boldin and Kaepernick have shown good chemistry this season, and it continued Monday. The veteran receiver caught seven passes for 94 yards and a touchdown in the win. Boldin also got the most targets with nine and finally found the end zone for his first touchdown of the season.
Crabtree didn’t get going until late and finished with only three receptions for 49 yards, but he did find the end zone. Crabtree was targeted eight times in the game but only caught the three passes. Crabtree’s numbers have been up and down this season and he is becoming increasingly difficult to start on a regular basis. Fantasy owners are breathing a sigh of relief that he scored a touchdown Monday night.
Vernon Davis
Davis was a bit of a dud in his return, catching only three passes for 30 yards. His numbers would be better if not for the collision with fellow tight end Vance McDonald. He did get six targets and should be fine for next week's match against the Denver Broncos. He remains a must-start across all fantasy leagues.
