Fantasy football Week 7 projections: Seahawks-Rams featuring Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch and Austin Davis

We break down the Week 7 matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the St. Louis Rams.

The Week 7 matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the St. Louis Rams features two teams coming off of home-field losses. We have the fantasy projections for you, courtesy of numberFire.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks took their second loss at home in the last 20 games against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6. Quarterback Russell Wilson had his worst game of the season, and the Cowboys managed to shut him out of the end zone and kept Wilson to just 126 yards on 14 completions. He did rush twice and scored a touchdown on the ground, but he will need to get back to his scrambling ways against the Rams if he is to provide fantasy owners with the MVP-like value he's shown at times throughout the season.

When Wilson isn't putting the ball in the air, it likely means that running back Marshawn Lynch will be carrying the load. The coaching staff has already mentioned in practice over the past week that Lynch should be getting the ball more. He ran the ball a season-low 10 times against the Cowboys last week, so although St. Louis is good against the run, Mr. Beast Mode could find himself extra busy in Week 7. Fantasy owners should start him as usual.

St. Louis Rams

Quarterback Austin Davis has been one of the surprises of the fantasy season. He's come a long way since acting as the Rams' third-string quarterback on and off over the past few seasons, but last week against the San Francisco 49ers, Davis was largely held in check. He did find Lance Kendricks for a touchdown on a nice little scramble, but was otherwise ineffective, completing just 21 of 41 attempts. However, the Rams will probably be playing from behind against the Seahawks, a team that gives up the fourth-most points to fantasy quarterbacks this season. Those two factors could make Davis a surprise performer this week.

The fact that Davis was subpar last week affected the results of wide receiver Brian Quick. Quick caught only a single pass last week against the 49ers after going off for a pair of touchdowns against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5. There's no doubt Quick is big, strong and hehas the ability to get open, so the fact he was targeted only four times last week shouldn't discourage his fantasy owners from starting him against the Seahawks. On the other hand, the fact that Quick should see a lot of Richard Sherman on Sunday is also a good reason for owners to give him a day off.
