Fantasy football Week 7 projections: Cardinals-Raiders featuring Carson Palmer, Michael Floyd and Andre Holmes

The Week 7 matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and the Oakland Raiders could feature its share of long-bomb touchdowns. We've got the fantasy projections for you courtesy of numberFire.

Cardinals welcomed the return of Carson Palmer to the lineup in last week's win over Washington. Palmer didn't seem to be suffering from any lingering effects of his shoulder injury in the winning effort. He passed for 250 yards and two touchdowns. He said he felt good after the game and his arm should get a bit stronger as the weeks go by. The Raiders have given up over 30 points a game in each of the last two weeks, which means that Palmer could be in for some solid fantasy numbers against his former team even though the game is on the road.

Perhaps there is no receiver on the Cardinals' roster happier to hear of Palmer's return than Michael Floyd. Floyd seemed to take a backseat to teammate Larry Fitzgerald over the last few weeks with Drew Stanton and Logan Thomas under center. That said, last week against Washington he managed to haul in his first touchdown of the season. Although he's finished two games in which he had just a single reception, those days should be far behind Floyd with Palmer slinging the rock again.

Apparently quarterback Derek Carr is healthy enough to air the ball out regularly for the Raiders. Carr threw a career-high four touchdown passes in an effort to come from behind that fell short against the San Diego Chargers last week. Although he still has yet to throw for over 300 yards in a game, it's clear that placing more of a focus on the ground attack isn't exactly happening as fast as some may have thought. That means Carr could continue to put up big numbers moving forward, even though that may not be the case this week against the Cardinals.

Fantasy owners who snatched Andre Holmes off the waiver wire this week have to be excited about Carr's connection with the young wideout. Holmes has 20 catches for 195 receiving yards and three touchdowns in the last two games combined, and it appears he has an edge over veteran teammate James Jones as the team's top pass catcher moving forward. Although the Cardinals' secondary is a good one, fantasy owners have to roll off Holmes while he's hot right now.
