Cleveland Browns running back Ben Tate has a knee injury, but is "on course to play," according to head coach Mike Pettine, via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Tate hasn't played since the season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was performing well in that game, with six carries for 41 yards before sustaining the knee injury that has forced him out of the past three games.
Ben Tate ‘on course to play,’ has some fantasy value
Ben Tate seems like he’s close to returning from a knee injury that kept him out of three games. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Browns have actually fielded a serviceable running game in his absence, however. They currently rank No. 10 in the league with 132.7 rushing yards per game on average. Terrance West is leading the way with 47 carries for 204 yards and two touchdowns, and Isaiah Crowell has 27 carries for 141 yards and three touchdowns. Tate will come back as the starter if he is active.
Fantasy Impact: It sounds like Tate was still labeled a limited participant in practice, but he does sound ready to go. It would be a surprise if Tate wasn't in action against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Tennessee has the No. 22 rush defense in the NFL, allowing 127.0 yards per game on average. Fantasy owners should start Tate with confidence barring a surprise out/doubtful designation on Friday. West and Crowell will battle for the remainder of the snaps.
