Ravens fantasy football recap: Justin Forsett, Torrey Smith slice through Atlanta defense

The Baltimore offense didn’t have much to worry about Sunday against a shoddy Atlanta team. We break down the fantasy implications.

Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

The Baltimore Ravens had their second straight convincing win Sunday. While they weren't able to repeat their ridiculous 48 points in Week 6, the Ravens were never threatened in their 29-7 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Baltimore scored the game's first 20 points before allowing a touchdown. The Ravens gained 6 yards per play, compared to 3.9 for Atlanta. At 5-2, Baltimore now sits atop the AFC North, thanks to Sunday's loss by the Cincinnati Bengals.

Let’s check out the fantasy performances:

Joe Flacco: The Baltimore quarterback didn't have nearly the explosive performance he did a week ago, when he threw for five first-half touchdowns en route to 32 fantasy points. Flacco had only 14 fantasy points in the game, though the team's early lead meant he wasn't called on to do much. Flacco threw for 258 yards on 16-of-25 passing, with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He's a mid-to-low QB2.

Justin Forsett: The veteran running back continued his strong season, with 95 rushing yards on 23 carries. Seven games into the season, Forsett is averaging almost 11 fantasy points per game, establishing himself as a good RB option in all leagues. The only downside to Forsett's day is that the rushing touchdown was vultured by ...

Bernard Pierce: The Ravens' No. 2 running back still isn't anything special -- he has only rushed for more than 32 yards once all season -- but he did have his second straight game with a touchdown Sunday, on a 1-yard run late in the second quarter. He's not relevant as anything other than a "meh" handcuff in fantasy, but his theft of touchdowns that could go to Forsett gets frustrating.

Torrey Smith: The wide receiver had his second straight big game, with a touchdown and 81 receiving yards. Smith now has four touchdowns in his last four games, with 45 fantasy points in that stretch. He's still not catching many passes (no more than four in a game), and he's only been targeted five times in each of the last two weeks, so Smith isn't someone fantasy owners can rely on week to week, but he's played himself back to some relevance.

Steve Smith: Only three catches and five targets for Smith, both season-worst numbers, but he did still manage 67 yards. Smith has gone for 100-plus yards in four of seven games and has scored four touchdowns so far, so Sunday's it's-all-relative struggles don't hurt his value much. He's still a No. 2 wide receiver.

Owen Daniels: Daniels had his best game since Week 2 Sunday, with six catches for 58 yards and a touchdown. His nine targets also marked a season high. This is the tight end many expected when Dennis Pitta got injured -- not dominant, but involved enough in the offense to stay in the conversation -- but he's paired two decent games with two bad ones in his four as the team's top option. He remains a mid-range TE2 until he can be more consistent.
