The Kansas City Chiefs came up with a late-game win against the San Diego Chargers in Week 7. Cairo Santos hit a 48-yard field goal with 21 seconds to play in the fourth quarter to ultimately give the Chiefs a 23-20 win.
Chiefs fantasy recap: Jamaal Charles stands out in Week 7
The Chiefs offense didn’t produce many stars on Sunday aside from their No. 1 running back. We break down the fantasy implications.

We don’t see many fantasy stars from the Chiefs on a weekly basis. Their starting running back is always the most valuable asset to own. Let’s break down the fantasy performances from Sunday.
Alex Smith: Smith completed 19 of 28 passes for 221 yards and one touchdown. He added two fantasy points with 29 yards rushing. After finishing Weeks 3 and 4 with three passing touchdowns each, Smith has only one score in back-to-back games. He seemed hesitant to take shots downfield in San Diego, which is nothing unusual for him. Smith is only a streaming option with the right matchup.
Jamaal Charles: With 95 yards rushing and a touchdown, Charles was the lone fantasy standout from the Chiefs in Week 7. He finished with 24 touches, but he only caught two passes for 12 yards. Andy Reid hasn't kept Charles involved much in the passing game over the last three games. He's the workhorse for the Chiefs, though. Charles will be a great play in Week 8 against the St. Louis Rams.
Dwayne Bowe: Bowe finished with a season-high 84 yards on five receptions. He looked sharper than any other game this year, but he did leave 15-20 yards on the table with a drop on a post route on third down. Bowe is averaging just over five targets per game. That volume does not translate well to fantasy success. Bowe is still a WR4 at best.
Travis Kelce: Kelce caught all four of his targets for 33 yards. He also had a fifth reception erased by a penalty. For some reason the Chiefs are still holding off on utilizing Kelce often, deciding to keep players like A.J. Jenkins rotating onto the field. Kelce is obviously the best weapon Smith has aside from Charles. Until Kelce sees more usage, though, he's a boom-or-bust TE1.
