The Buffalo Bills have an interesting situation brewing at the running back position. With Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller sustaining injuries, Anthony Dixon is typically the third back on the field. And while he's a bigger, short-yardage kind of running back, Dixon feels that this is his opportunity to be the team's feature back, according to The Buffalo News.
Anthony Dixon, Bryce Brown present murky fantasy situation in Buffalo
It’s unclear who will be the starter between Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown in Buffalo. We break down the fantasy implications.

Dixon said that he never had an opportunity to start while with the San Francisco 49ers, which is unsurprising given that Frank Gore is still there. Dixon said that these injuries present him with the "opportunity I've been waiting for, to get back in that workhorse role and show people what I can do." That said, Dixon, despite being the third active back, may not get that chance.
Instead, Bryce Brown, who more fits the bill of an every-down back, seems the favorite to get the job. Jackson said that Brown is "an every-down back," and that he can "do it all," according to the Bills official Twitter.
Fantasy Impact: It stands to reason that Dixon is typically the third active back because he does a few things differently than Jackson and Spiller. That doesn’t necessarily indicate that he’d be better taking over the starting role than Brown. At this point, Brown may be the better fantasy handcuff, though we likely won’t know for sure until we see the way carries are distributed in practice.
