St. Louis Rams running back Tre Mason took the most offensive snaps at his position in Sunday's win over the Seattle Seahawks. Mason played on 27 of 51 offensive snaps, while Benny Cunningham logged 19 and Zac Stacy got just the one snap. That's significant, given that Stacy started the season as the starting running back. He got no touches on the day.
Tre Mason taking over starting role; fantasy value rising
Tre Mason is taking control of the starting running back job in St. Louis. We break down the fantasy implications.

Mason, a rookie third-round pick, played well against the Seahawks. He had 18 carries for 85 yards and a touchdown in just his second game of the season. He also had five carries for 40 yards against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6. It's clear there's been a changing of the guard and Mason will be the primary ball-carrier going forward.
Fantasy Impact: Mason has all the makings of a feature back and should flourish in that role for the Rams. Fantasy owners of Stacy can mark that experiment as over and try and grab Mason before it’s too late. Cunningham still has value as a handcuff, but Mason will be the starter going forward. He doesn’t have much to offer in the way of receiving, however, so if the Rams can’t run, then he’s not putting up points.
