New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings is still making his way back from a sprained MCL, although he hopes to be back in time for New York's Week 9 game against the Indianapolis Colts. The Giants have their bye in Week 8, giving Jennings an extra week of rest.
Rashad Jennings hoping to return in Week 9, fantasy owners should wait
The Giants are on bye in Week 8 and Rashad Jennings hopes to be back after it. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jennings hasn’t played since suffering the knee injury in Week 5. He had been playing well before going down, rushing for 396 yards and two touchdowns on 91 carries and adding 11 receptions for 109 yards. Rookie Andre Williams has been starting in his place.
Fantasy impact: Jennings still isn’t a sure thing for Week 9, although he remains right on track with the normal 3-4 week timetable for MCL sprains. Williams has been underwhelming in the starting role -- he’s rushed for just 110 yards in the last two games with no touchdowns, averaging 3.1 yards per carry, and has been a non-factor in the passing game.
Jennings shouldn’t have much trouble resuming the No. 1 role and should be back on the RB2 radar when he returns. Fantasy owners can keep stashing Williams if Jennings isn’t ready after the bye, but he’s no longer a must-start player.
