Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III (dislocated ankle) will not play in the team's Week 8 game against the Dallas Cowboys, according to NBC Washington's Diana Marie Russini. Griffin hasn't played since going down with the injury in Week 2.
Robert Griffin will not play in Week 8, return still on the horizon for fantasy owners
Washington’s dynamic quarterback isn’t going to play against the rival Cowboys in Week 8. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: Once upon a time in Washington there was a lot of talk about why the team drafted Kirk Cousins when RGIII was already the anointed starter and superstar. Now that Cousins has had ample opportunity to prove whether or not he's starter-worthy in the NFL and seemingly failed, that talk should die down when Griffin returns.
Meanwhile, one Washington quarterback also being talked about is Colt McCoy, who replaced a struggling Cousins in Week 7 and did well. He'll likely start ahead of Cousins against the Cowboys.
Griffin’s fantasy owners probably cut him weeks ago, but those who still believe he can put up fantasy stats once he makes his return this season can go ahead and stash him on the bench for now. He is likely to return before the team’s Week 9 bye.
