Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles is going through the NFL-mandated concussion protocol this week. He took a hit to the head from San Diego Chargers cornerback Brandon Flowers on his touchdown run in Week 7, but played through the pain.
Fantasy owners need to keep an eye on Jamaal Charles going through concussion protocol
Charles is going through the concussion protocol. We break down the fantasy implications.

The team has not said he had a concussion, but trainer Rick Burkholder wants to keep an eye on Charles. “We’re not classifying him as having a concussion. But as with all of our players, I’ll monitor him as he goes and he’ll go through practice today,” Burkholder said. He added that he did check on Charles after the hit and was “absolutely asymptomatic.”
Flowers was actually helped off the field following the hit and Charles also admitted he was hurt. If he is still symptom-free, he should not have a problem getting through the protocol in time for Week 8.
Fantasy impact: Running back Knile Davis should be owned everywhere, but most signs point to Charles giving it a go. He's a must-start play assuming there are no surprises.
