New England Patriots running back Shane Vereen is officially listed as questionable for Week 8 against the Chicago Bears. Vereen missed practice on Friday with an illness, but this sounds an awful lot like the Patriots doing whatever it is they do with the injury report.
Shane Vereen injury update: Patriots RB questionable; no worries for fantasy owners
Vereen is questionable with an illness, but it would be a shock if he doesn’t play in Week 8. We break down the fantasy implications.

The questionable designation is supposed to denote a 50-percent chance of playing, but nobody really expects that’s the case for Vereen. He’s been solid this season, with 53 carries for 259 yards and a touchdown and 23 receptions for 185 yards and two more touchdowns. That’s why his appearance on the injury report was so worrying for fantasy owners.
Fantasy Impact: But really, there’s nothing to worry about. Vereen will be active and it would be a big shock if he were limited in any way. He’s as valuable in fantasy as he is any Sunday, and should be considered a must-start against the Bears. Chicago isn’t bad at stopping the run, but they’ve struggled with the more shifty players like Vereen.
