Oakland Raiders wide receiver Andre Holmes has demonstrated his serious play-making ability to his owners. What he lacks is consistency. That comes with the territory whenever we're talking about the Raiders, who are led by a rookie quarterback with an offensive line that leaves much to be desired and an unsettling lack of talent on both sides of the ball. Owners who chased his Weeks 4 and 6 production found this out the hard way. In those two weeks, Holmes caught a total of nine passes for 195 yards and three touchdowns. He then followed it up with a 3/34 effort last week.
Fantasy start/sit avdice, Week 8: Andre Holmes a risky WR play
Andre Holmes has been a hit-or-miss play. Can he get hot in Week 8?

Fantasy Impact: Owners who consider themselves risk-averse are better off keeping Holmes out of their lineups. He's the fantasy equivalent of playing roulette. While James Jones is listed as Oakland's No. 1 receiver, it is Holmes who is more likely to see a healthy amount of shutdown cornerback Joe Haden when they face the Cleveland Browns this week. Holmes is a classic boom-or-bust WR3.
