The Detroit Lions have deactivated wide receiver Calvin Johnson and running back Reggie Bush for their Week 8 contest against the Atlanta Falcons. Neither move is a surprise. Johnson is recovering from a high ankle sprain and Bush was dealing with his own ankle sprain. The Lions have a bye this coming week, so sitting them against the Falcons will give them an additional week on top of the bye to get back to 100 percent.
Calvin Johnson, Reggie Bush inactive for fantasy owners against Falcons
Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush are inactive for Week 8. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: Johnson's and Bush's absences bode well for wide receiver Golden Tate and running back Joique Bell. Tate has three 100-yard receiving performances in the Lions last four games, along with two touchdowns. He is in line for a huge day against one of the worst pass defenses in the league. Bell has not been great this season, averaging 3.3 yards per carry, but fantasy owners will benefit from volume in Week 8. Theo Riddick and George Winn will get some work as well, but Bell will get the bulk of the work against a bad Falcons run defense.
