Shane Vereen is set to lead the New England Patriots' backfield on Sunday, despite being listed as questionable and missing practice Friday due to illness.
Shane Vereen injury update: Patriots RB will start vs. Bears, fantasy owners should start
Shane Vereen is good to go after missing Friday’s practice with an illness. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

#Patriots RB Shane Vereen, who missed Friday’s practice with an illness, will play today. … You think he’d miss a showdown with his brother?
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) October 26, 2014 Vereen's brother, Brock Vereen, is a rookie free safety for the Chicago Bears. Shane will likely see plenty of opportunities against Chicago's mediocre run defense. Jonas Gray and Brandon Bolden are behind him on the depth chart -- they saw just four touches collectively in Week 7, leaving virtually no competition for Vereen in the backfield.
Fantasy impact: Fantasy owners that benched Vereen against the New York Jets in Week 7 will have a chance to redeem themselves on Sunday. Vereen had two scores against the Jets and should see plenty of touches. He will serve as an RB2 with plenty of upside in PPR leagues.
