Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown go off for fantasy owners in Steelers win

Pittsburgh’s offense could not be stopped in Week 8. We break down the fantasy implications.

Justin K. Aller

The Pittsburgh Steelers put up a monster offensive performance in Week 8, defeating the Indianapolis Colts, 51-34, on Sunday. Ben Roethlisberger threw for a team-record 522 yards and six touchdowns in the best outing of his career.

With over 600 yards of total offense, the Steelers made a huge impact for fantasy owners this week. Let’s take a look at the fantasy performances from Week 8.

Ben Roethlisberger: He completed 40 of 49 passes for the aforementioned record numbers, throwing four touchdowns in the first half alone. The Colts shut down the Cincinnati Bengals offense last week and have been relatively solid overall throughout 2014, so Big Ben's dominant performance was more than unexpected. He looked in sync with all of his targets, dismantling the Colts secondary throughout the night. Roethlisberger faces a tough matchup next against the Baltimore Ravens. He only had four touchdowns in the past three weeks leading up to Sunday.

Le'Veon Bell: Rushing for 92 yards on 24 carries, Bell broke the 100-yard mark again by catching six passes for 56 yards. He briefly appeared to have injured his right ankle, but he went back in the game and served as a workhorse late in the fourth quarter. Bell's receiving skills give him a high floor every week even if he isn't scoring many touchdowns.

Antonio Brown: Arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL right now, Brown went off for 10 catches, 133 yards and two touchdowns against the Colts secondary. He was targeted a team-high 13 times by Roethlisberger. That kind of volume will continue to ensure he's a WR1 every week. There's not much else you can say about Brown's dominance.

Martavis Bryant: The rookie saw more targets than Markus Wheaton and finished with five receptions for 83 yards and two touchdowns. Both scores came within just a few yards of the end zone, proving Bryant can be a great red zone threat. He now has back-to-back games with a touchdown and continues to emerge onto the WR4 radar.

Heath Miller: He exploded for seven receptions, 112 yards and a touchdown. It was Miller's second game of the year with a score and also his second with more than four catches. Miller has enough upside to blow up here and there, but he's a tough option to start every week because of his inconsistency.
