Griffin is nearly recovered from a dislocated ankle suffered in Week 2, but head coach Jay Gruden determined that he's not ready to play yet. He did get in limited practices and was listed as questionable, suggesting that he could make his return against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9. There's still an outside chance Washington holds him out until after their Week 10 bye. They'll be going with McCoy after Kirk Cousins started five games.
Fantasy impact: McCoy replaced Cousins during Washington's Week 7 win over the Tennessee Titans. His stats were acceptable, but McCoy looked like the same mediocre journeyman he always was, with his 128 yards inflated by a 70-yard catch-and-run from Pierre Garcon. The 28-year-old is the very definition of "stop-gap" and shouldn't be on anyone's fantasy radars. It's still an open question as to how Griffin will fit in Gruden's system, but he's a worthy waiver-wire add assuming he'll be ready to go next week.
