New York Jets coach Rex Ryan said in a press conference Monday that quarterback Michael Vick will start against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9.
Michael Vick will start against the Chiefs, remains a risky fantasy play
Michael Vick is going to start against the Kansas City Chiefs. We break down the fantasy implications.

Geno Smith had one of the worst games in recent memory on Sunday. He was the first QB in 20 years to throw three or more picks on eight or fewer attempts. Additionally, he turned in a 0.0 passer rating and total QBR. Basically, this was a move that Ryan had to make.
As bad as Geno was, Vick hasn’t been great either. He has a laughable 3.6 yards per attempt on the season and hasn’t thrown a TD on his 56 attempts. Plus, he’s fumbled four times to go with his one pick, giving him a lowly 13.1 total QBR. Sure, he didn’t get a full week of practice with the first unit leading up to either of the two games in which he had multiple passing attempts, but those are some putrid numbers.
Fantasy impact: Vick has done a decent job as a low-end fantasy quarterback, but his body of work this season suggests he's going to be too risky to use. Unless you're in a 12-team, two-QB league, you probably don't want to cut anyone with solidified value. Vick starting may also hurt the outlooks for receivers Eric Decker and Percy Harvin.
