Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart looked solid in his return to action against the Green Bay Packers in Week 7 and looked even better against the tough Seattle Seahawks in Week 8. He missed just about a full month of action with an injury, but he seems up to 100 percent at this point.
Fantasy football sit/start advice, Week 9: Jonathan Stewart
Jonathan Stewart has been running well in recent weeks, but DeAngelo Williams is returning in Week 9. We break down the fantasy implications.

Stewart managed 16 carries for 79 yards against the Seahawks, and has 58 carries for 217 yards and a touchdown on the season. That actually leads the Panthers, which is a pretty solid example of how bad they've been at running the ball this year. Both Stewart and DeAngelo Williams have been hurt, and the Panthers are ranked No. 27 in the league in rushing.
Fantasy Impact: That said, Stewart isn’t a smart fantasy option. Williams is returning from his ankle injury and Ron Rivera already said that he’ll be starting. So Stewart will be the backup, though he may wind up carrying a greater workload in the end. Whatever the case, these two have leeched carries from each other for years, making both risky fantasy plays any given week.
This week is no different and neither player is worth a start against the New Orleans Saints until one establishes himself as the primary ball-carrier.
