Cincinnati Bengals running back Giovani Bernard is not practicing on Thursday, according to Geoff Hobson of the team website. Bernard has a hip injury, and Hobson thinks it's likely that he won't be playing against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Bernard sustained the injury against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8.
Giovani Bernard misses practice, fantasy status in question
Giovani Bernard is not at practice on Thursday due to a hip injury. We breakdown the fantasy implications.

The severity of the injury is unknown. It’s been called a hip pointer, but as to whether he’s day-to-day or week-to-week is unknown. He had 16 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown against the Ravens. On the season, Bernard is doing well with 109 carries for 446 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 4.1 yards per carry. Cincinnati ranks 16th in the league with 111.4 rushing yards per game.
Fantasy Impact: It seems unlikely that Bernard will be able to play in Week 9. Fantasy owners hopefully have Jeremy Hill as a handcuff, because he may get the bulk of the carries. Hill should start the game if Bernard doesn't play, and he has 50 carries for 195 yards and three touchdowns this season. Fantasy owners should wait at least until Friday's practice session before making a change.
