Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams is active against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday. He has been dealing with an ankle and many leg issues this season, but is expected in the starting lineup.
DeAngelo Williams gets the start as a risky fantasy play
Williams will start against the Saints on Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Williams is still going to share the load Jonathan Stewart against a suddenly improved Saints run defense. In the last three games, they kept running backs under 70 yards rushing, but they have been gashed in the passing game. Neither Williams nor Stewart are adept in the passing game these days, so neither are likely to be very effective tonight. Additionally, Williams has been out of the lineup since Week 4, so it's not like he's going to be given 15 touches.
Fantasy impact: This is a situation fantasy owners will want to avoid. The Panthers have one of the worst ground games in the league and quarterback Cam Newton is basically the goal-line back for them, as well.
