There are some question marks at tight end heading into Week 5, which will boost the need for sleeper options. Vernon Davis is questionable with a back injury, and Jordan Reed and Niles Paul are both questionable with a hamstring and concussion, respectively. Here are a few Week 5 options that could surprise people.
Fantasy football sleepers, Week 5: Tight Ends
If you’re in the demographic still searching for a useful tight end, these names should get you bye in Week 5.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins: With Mike Evans out, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be looking to lean heavily elsewhere. Vincent Jackson is the obvious choice, but against a putrid New Orleans Saints secondary, there are more than enough opportunities to go around. Against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, Seferian-Jenkins received seven targets in his first start of the season. In opportunity alone, he could finish Week 5 as a top 10 tight end and should be used as a daily fantasy option for those looking to fade the likes of Jimmy Graham and Julius Thomas.
Owen Daniels: Daniels took over for the injured Dennis Pitta last week and finished behind only Steve Smith in targets. This week, Daniels and the Baltimore Ravens offense face an Indianapolis Colts secondary that has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Look for Daniels to produce low-end TE1 numbers.
Dwayne Allen: Though Coby Fleener remains relevant in the Indianapolis Colts offense, Allen has received more snaps and targets since Week 1. Though this is admittedly more of a gut-feeling, the Colts will more likely be looking to attack the stingy Baltimore Ravens defense through the air. If you're browsing the wire for a fill-in, Allen could, at the least, finish with a touchdown.
