Tennessee Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt has left his onlookers dumbstruck over the first quarter of the season. Speedy running back Bishop Sankey has seen the field sparingly while more defined roles were carved out for Shonn Greene and Dexter McCluster.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 5: Bishop Sankey
It looks as if the Tennessee Titans will give their rookie running back some more time in the backfield going forward. We break down the fantasy implications.

But this week, on the heels of a limited but electric showing versus the Indianapolis Colts, Sankey has earned himself more playing time, according to his coach.
“You will see (more reps for Sankey). That’s coming,” Whisenhunt said on [104.5-FM]. “And I think you’ll see more of that earlier in the game this week. I think one of the things that does get lost is that he had more snaps in the game last week than any of our running backs. That game a little one-sided quickly, so maybe it wasn’t as evident, but he was in there earlier.”
Fantasy impact: Those are encouraging words, but fantasy owners will now have to determine if “more” involvement is “enough” involvement to put up significant fantasy numbers. Sankey’s running ability has been apparent from the get-go, and if he sees a significant volume, there’s every reason to anticipate big numbers in his future.
The issue is, that’s a big if right now. Sankey remains a hold in leagues of all formats, but he’s best left on fantasy benches until owners see Whisenhunt’s words come to fruition.
