Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins has been hit or miss through his first four games. He had another productive outing last week after putting himself on the map in Week 2 with a 8-117-1 line. However, he recorded five catches for 50 yards in the other two weeks. The No. 8 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Watkins is likely to continue struggling for consistency.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 5: Sammy Watkins not a must-start
Sammy Watkins’ rookie campaign is off to a good start. Can he keep the momentum going in Week 5?

Fantasy Impact: Watkins certainly does not suffer from a talent deficiency. However, he has some obstacles to overcome before he can position himself as a reliable WR3. Buffalo has been one of the most run-heavy squads throughout the last couple seasons. Assuming the trend continues, targets will continue to be an factor.
The other issue to take into account is the fact that Buffalo has benched quarterback EJ Manuel in favor of journeyman Kyle Orton. It's debatable how much of an upgrade he'll be over Manuel. But what Watkins owners need to factor in is that chemistry between the two could take a few weeks to develop. Taking on a Detroit Lions secondary that gives up the second fewest points to opposing wide receivers, Watkins is a low-upside WR3/flex option.
