The Baltimore Ravens have been entirely unpredictable with their ball carriers this season. Even if a running back proves to be the "hot hand," there's still no guarantee that player will see the bulk of carries. So far, Justin Forsett has seen the most work. He's seen at least four targets in the passing game in each of his four games. He's averaging 11 carries a game as well. Lorenzo Taliaferro has out-touched Forsett on the ground, but hasn't been targeted once in the passing game. Meanwhile, Bernard Pierce saw zero snaps in Week 4 after sitting out in Week 3 for precautionary reasons. Pierce had a whopping 22 carries in Week 2, but there's no sign of him seeing that kind of a workload again. To make matters more unclear, ESPN's Lindsay Czarniak confirmed that the Ravens plan on using all three of their running backs Sunday.
Fantasy football sit/start advice, Week 5: Avoid unpredictable Ravens backfield
The Baltimore Ravens continue to offer vague intentions with their backfield. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: To put it simply, it’s a mess from a fantasy perspective. If we were to bet on any of the three running backs getting the bulk of touches, it would be Forsett. Taliaferro appears to have the most long term upside, but there’s no telling when he’ll get a significant workload. Pierce is being dropped by many owners for good reason. Regardless, it’s a situation to avoid if at all possible.
