Alshon Jeffery led the Chicago Bears wide receivers with six receptions for 97 yards and a touchdown in Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers. Meanwhile Brandon Marshall wasn’t much of a factor, catching just three passes for 44 yards on Sunday.
Alshon Jeffery outpaces Brandon Marshall in fantasy for Week 5
Jeffery posted another impressive stat line while Marshall made little impact against Carolina. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jeffery saw seven targets against the Panthers, two more than Marshall had. Both receivers were outdone by Matt Forte, who finished with 12 receptions for 105 yards.
Fantasy impact: Jay Cutler was checking down often, hence the massive receiving numbers from Forte. Cutler was sacked four times and hit another five, so he wasn’t exactly enjoying his time in the pocket. Still, Jeffery managed to do a good amount of damage with his targets. He now has 243 yards and two touchdowns in his past three games.
Marshall’s numbers were a bit concerning considering he played the full game and looked healthy while he was out there. He has only six catches for 69 yards in his last three outings. We would expect big numbers from both wide receivers next week against the Atlanta Falcons.
