Despite getting off to a slow start on Monday Night Football against a tough Seattle Seahawks defense, Kirk Cousins was able to find some success in the second half and finished with 283 yards and two touchdowns in a Week 5 loss to the defending Super Bowl champions.
Kirk Cousins salvages fantasy performance late against Seattle
Kirk Cousins struggled to find much success early, but did add a pair of passing touchdowns later in the game. Here are the fantasy implications from Monday Night Football.

Coming into the game, Cousins was averaging 299.7 passing yards per game. He finished below his average, but was able to boost his total with a couple of solid drives late in the game. Cousins threw for 93 yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter, making for a more respectable fantasy performance. While he still didn’t put up eye-popping stats, his performance was aided by a lack of turnovers. Cousins was coming off a four-interception performance against New York, but did not throw an interception against Seattle despite a couple of close calls.
Fantasy impact: Cousins had a bounce back game against a Seahawks defense allowing the eighth most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Fantasy owners are breathing a sigh of relief to see Cousins shake off a dreadful performance against the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football in Week 4 where he threw four interceptions and only one touchdown. While the performance against Seattle was better, there is still cause for concern and fantasy owners should continue to monitor. Washington will face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6. The Cardinals are giving up the 17th most fantasy points to quarterbacks.
