This week has been filled with reports that San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree is unhappy with his role in the team's offense. That's despite the fact that Crabtree hasn't really said anything particularly inflammatory. In a league where Mike Wallace is ranting about the Miami Dolphins offense every other week, it's a little silly that Crabtree's comments have been taken this far.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 11: Michael Crabtree
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree might be worth a start against the struggling New York Giants in Week 11.

That said, Crabtree hasn't been as effective as expected, especially given that this is a contract year. He's caught 40 passes for 424 yards and three touchdowns, which isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination, but he's losing targets to other receivers on the roster. Anquan Boldin, Stevie Johnson and Brandon Lloyd have all been taking targets from Crabtree, limiting his production.
Fantasy Impact: The 49ers also aren't exactly a big passing team. All of these things have made Crabtree a shaky fantasy option. Fantasy owners have either moved on or only start him in specific situations. Against the New York Giants on Sunday, Crabtree will be looking at a favorable matchup given that they allow 260.2 passing yards per game. In other words, Crabtree is worth a start as a third or fourth receiver option.
