Indianapolis Colts tight end Dwayne Allen likely suffered a high ankle sprain, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Allen injured his ankle against the New England Patriots on Sunday, and while there's more tests to undergo, the Colts "believe" it's a high ankle sprain. Unfortunately, it's basically impossible to offer a timeline when it comes to high ankle sprains, given that we've seen players miss a single game and others miss the better part of a season.
Dwayne Allen likely suffered high ankle sprain; fantasy status unclear
Dwayne Allen has a high ankle sprain and may miss some time. We break down the fantasy implications.

Allen has been solid this season, with 26 receptions for 374 yards and seven touchdowns on the year. He's been an effective weapon in the red zone, and was only passed in receiving yardage by Coby Fleener on Sunday. Fleener caught seven passes for 144 yards against the Patriots, and has 29 receptions for 439 yards and four touchdowns on the year.
Fantasy Impact: Allen has been worth fantasy starts here and there, but Fleener just has one of the best games of his career and now he’s firmly on the fantasy radar with Allen likely missing some time. We’ll need to see what happens in practice later this week when it comes to Allen but for now his fantasy status is in doubt.
